Ecopreneur.eu was formed by the initiative of Grüne Wirtschaft (Austria), UnternehmensGrün e.V. (Germany) and Entreprendre Vert (France). Since many years, the founding member organizations contribute actively to the political decision-making process in their respective countries. In 2016 Ecopreneur.eu aquired official legal status as an "association internationale sans but lucratif" (aisbl), a non-profit non-governmental organization under Belgian law. The organization is quickly growing and now holds seven asscociation from different countries of the European Union.
Alyssa Jade McDonald-Bärtl is a social entrepreneur working to evolve standards to influence food sovereignty and agroecology. She founded BLYSS GmbH, a social enterprise which harvests their own cacao beans for foodies who expect more from chocolate from South America to South Asia. BLYSS grows, certifies and trades cacao for hotels, families and chocolate companies over 2 core harvests in the year, working with over 1000 farmer families in Ecuador, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. She is the board member of Unternehmensgrün, the German Federal Association of Green Economy and she guest lectures at St Gallen University Switzerland, Oxford University England, London School of Business and Kellogg WHU.
Frédéric Benhaim is the acting President of Entreprendre Vert. He has been involved in the business-- and corporate social responsibility worlds for 10 years as well as the environmental movement. He co-founded Entreprendre Vert in 2005 with Andrée Buchmann and others. He is also an Ariane de Rothschild Fellow.
Marjolein Demmers is director at ‘De Groene Zaak’ (DGZ), the sustainable business association in the Netherlands. Marjolein has worked in the field of sustainability for over 25 years. Her personal mission is to work towards a sustainable society, by taking a holistic perspective on corporate business strategy, decision making and change management. Marjolein is a member of the Advisory Council for Environment and Infrastructure, an independent strategic advisory board for the government and parliament in the fields of the physical environment and infrastructure – this is on personal account. She is chair of the expert council for the Foundation for Sustainable Certification and ambassador for sustainability in het home town, Amersfoort.
Luis Morales Carballo is co-founder and Director of Innovation at Greenbiz (Green Business Spain) and Spain Manager of Ecopreneurs for the Climate. Socioecologist and environmental consultant, with special focus on green economy and eco-innovation, he has worked in a wide range of projects and programmes, at national and international levels, to foster eco-entreprenurship, strengthen ecosystems of green economy and create networks of green businesses. Luis regularly participates in seminars and congresses, and writes informational articles to increase environmental awareness on topics such as sustainable mobility, urban cycling and green economy. He is one of the founders and the President of the Spanish Green Business Association (ECOVE), created in February 2016.
Volker Plass, born 1965 in Vienna/Austria, studied Geophysics at the Technical University Vienna. He worked as a campaigner for the Austrian Information service for Development Policy. 1995 he founded Plass Grafik-Design Agency. 1999 he was involved in the foundation of Grüne Wirtschaft (Green business organisation of Austria) – since than he holds the position of the Chairman and speaker of Grüne Wirtschaft. 2005-2015 Member of the presidium of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ), since 2013 he is Member of the board of Die Grünen Österreich (Green party of Austria).
Gaël Guillou is co-founder of IGNEOS, a Belgian management consulting firm focusing on non-mass-markets and sustainable profit where he co-created new consulting strategies. He also operates as a key accountant manager for international Fortune 50 companies where he is responsible for client relationships, project delivery and new business development across client's affiliates worldwide. With IGNEOS he is a member of the Sustainable Economy Association.
Arthur ten Wolde is the circular economy expert of Ecopreneur.eu and De Groene Zaak. Arthur is internationally recognized as a circular economy expert, motivational speaker and (co-)author of several reports and numerous articles in magazines such as Euractive and Milieu (Environment). Before, he worked on sustainability and innovation for a Dutch think tank, where he became coordinator circular economy and advised AkzoNobel, and on innovation policy for the Confederation of Netherlands Industries and Employers VNO-NCW.
Juliane Reiber has been working in the field of green entrepreneurship, sustainability, and education for sustainability for more than 15 years, implementing change and working towards a transformation of society towards sustainability and green economy. She has implemented various sustainability related projects in Germany and other countries of the EU.
